Barbara Nell has been an artist and educator for 35 years. Living and working in the Goulburn/ Canberra region. During that time she has taught students at primary, secondary and tertiary level. Her passion and enthusiasm for the arts have lead her to instigate projects in schools and the wider community that have created greater access and celebration of the arts within those communities.
In 2010 the completion of a Master of Creative Arts at Wollongong University reinvigorated and directed her arts practice. Her body of work produced was based on fragments and myths of family history. Since then she has undertaken two artist residencies in Italy. Her current work continues to develop from the inspiration found in historical and contemporary Europe.
